Wind, Life, Fire

by Richard W. Webb

verse 1

Wind, Holy Spirit,
Blowin’ thru the chambers of my heart.
Wind, whispers to me,
"I’ve been right here with you from the start."
From the earliest of days, He’s been worthy of our praise.
Wind, the Holy Spirit of God.
Wind, the Breath of God, blown through all the earth.
Wind, the Holy Spirit of Love.

verse 2

Life, Holy Spirit,
Flowin’ thru the members of the body of Christ.
Life, sing God’s praises,
Glorifying God in the highest.
Ev’ry creature great and small, singing praises one and all.
Life, the Holy Spirit of God.
Life from God a gift, spread across the earth.
Life, the Holy Spirit of Love.

verse 3

Fire, Holy Spirit,
Ragin’ thru the embers of our lives to burn anew.
Fire, racing through us,
Glowing from our hearts until God is shining thru.
Are we burning with desire to show the world the Holy Fire?
Fire, the Holy Spirit of God.
Tongues of flame to light each corner of the earth.
Fire, the Holy Spirit of Love.
Life, the Holy Spirit of Love.
Wind, the Holy Spirit of Love.
Wind, Life, Fire, let us be one in God’s Holy Spirit of Love.

scripture

Genesis 1:2 — And the earth was without form, and void: and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Psalm 33:6 — By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Acts 2:1-4, 16-21 — [1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. . . . [16] But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; [17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: [18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: [19] And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: [20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: [21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Psalm 145:10 — All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 — [19] I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: [20] That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Psalm 150 — [1] Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. [2] Praise him for his mighty acts; praise him according to his excellent greatness. [3] Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. [4] Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with the stringed instruments and organs. [5] Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. [6] Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
